|INTRODUCTION
Luc Piron developed the CRC (Cycling Research Center) measuring system in the early 80's. He can be considered as one of the pioneers of bike analysis. His measuring system makes use of personally collected data, based on scientifically sound biomechanical tests and research programs.
Many champions were very successful using the CRC's bicycle fitting program. But more important is that this program provided many cycling enthusiasts, recreational as well as professional, with solutions for their complaints and injuries. And this tendency continues: all kinds of complaints originating from cycling can be examined and treated by the CRC measuring system.
The bicycle frames of the 80's were no longer adapted to the bodies of the people that had tot use them, resulting in an urgent need for adjustment. At present many famous frame manufacturers are using CRC's geometrical data.
The morphology of young racers has changed over the past decades and this physical evolution is still continuing. The CRC fitting and sizing system keeps track of that evolution.
Just look at the increasing average speed of cycling races. Modern material requires correct and optimum tuning, taking into account aerodynamics.
There also is an adapted "ladies-fitting program", useful for recreational as well as competitive purposes.
A CRC bike analysis goes beyond plain theory. Theory is translated into practice, with the bicycle becoming an extension of the body.
